It rained all weekend and on Saturday morning we decided to walk down to the Lake of Egypt with the Bear since it was chilly and drizzly and staying inside and sealing the ceramic tile floors didn't sound like that much fun. It was a nice walk and since I never get down this far very often, even during my regularly scheduled visits, it was a whole new adventure for everyone. Including The Bear who never gets to walk down to the Lake. It's also nice to see the fence line on the property from outside the property.
This is supposed to be an access road that separates our property from the neighbor's property. A little overdue for a cut I'd say.
Wow, look at that! Wild asparagus! I'm going to come down here when nobody is looking and dig that sucker up to replant on Mom's property. If it's on the road side of the fence, technically it's public wild asparagus.
Cell phone tower in the middle of nowhere.
Happy Geese enjoying their swollen pond. They are making a bee line for the water because they see The Bear coming.
Purple Martin Deluxe Condo! This property has five of these scattered around the Goose Pond. For good reason, Purple Martin's are aerial acrobats and exist on a diet almost exclusively of winged bugs. They rarely, if ever, feed off the ground. In a place where flies, mosquitos, moths and a host of other annoying winged pests can become overwhelming, housing these birds near your house (or pond) has a major impact on the bug population.
Gorgeous Black Stallion. He was all excited about running up to greet us until he realized we weren't going to feed him anything. Then he immediately lost interest.
There's the Lake. By this point, The Bear was starting to drag. He was getting overheated and this is farther than he usually walks so we headed back home.
The Bear needed a serious nap after that walk. In fact, he is still in the same napping position on the floor.
