I finally pulled together enough recycled wood to make a full square. After liberating only one workable piece of wood from the barn I decided to look for easier pickings. Now it was time to tear up the soil a bit before adding compost and soil. This should be pretty easy since there has been so much rain.
Only it wasn't that easy. In fact, it kind of sucked a little. Not the zen gardening experience I was kind of hoping for.
And then I remembered that Fearless Mom has power tools. A LOT of them and a tiller was among them. I had to scour both garage and shed but finally found the MANTIS!
Okey-dokey, here we go! Now all I have to do is add a little gas and fire this puppy up and...
...oh crap!

I forgot, these things don't just use gas, they use an evil Oil/Gas mixture that has to be combined with perfect chemistry to prevent the machinery from crapping out. Even better, every piece of small machinery uses a slightly different mix. And did I mention how many small power tools there are around here. No less than 8 gas cans to choose from....
Time to call in Fearless Mom!

Ok, so now I have the lowdown on the tiller after getting a crash course on how to use it.
We are cooking with gas. And oil!
