This weather sucks. It makes me long for the summer days when I lived near the beach and spent most of the day fogged in. Besides the heat and high humidity, the sun here is bloody intense. I used to worry about skin damage when the UV factor hit anything above a 6. Here, it never goes below a 9 even when it's cloudy. Who knew? Worse, I think I am having some kind of mystery heat reactive rash that is now spreading all over. Being out in the sun appears to make it worse so whenever I go outside, I have to wear a long sleeved shirt. It's just...lovely! And oh so comfortable.
The animals are starting to feel the burn as well. The Bear might have gotten a mild case of heat stroke on one of his walks a couple of weeks ago and was not acting normal for several days. As a precaution, FM decided to skip his evening walk until the weather cools down a bit. It seems to take him more than a day to recover from even the shortest walk (damn nordic coat) and the heat risk associated with a dog like this is too great. The other animals seem to be doing okay considering they are outdoors.

Wanda acting paralyzed by the heat.
Buttons all hot and cranky. You can barely tell in this picture but she is wet with sweat. I don't know why she doesn't just jump in the pond like our other ponies used to do. I think she just likes being cranky.
Billy does fine because he's confined to the indoors and the A/C all the time and he has a fur coat to balance out the chill. The humans in the household however freeze our butts off. And Bear STILL pants, even with three units in constant rotation (damn nordic coat). Poor little Zippy probably wishes she had a heating pad to sleep on.
Teacup Tigress trying to stay warm.
Next week we will be moving back out of the house because the floors have to be torn out once more. Hence, the Trailers and Tribulations page will be active again. We are renting a trailer for this second go around and luckily it should only take a matter of days as opposed to weeks and weeks. The cats and dog should all be on a first name basis by the time this is over.
