The weather is in the mid-90's with an average humidity of about 60%. I hope this is the worst it gets but something tells me this is going to be a hot and muggy one. There is absolutely zero moving air outside and today I resorted to using the A/C because The Bear never stops stress panting (damn nordic coat!). I took a stroll early this morning before the bugs got bad to check out the pond walkway.
This is the next project. One that has to happen this weekend in fact. This tree split in half during a winter storm and now it blocks access to the meadow on both sides. We have scheduled someone to come and 'bush hog' both fields so this has to go pronto. I'm either going to have to break out the karmic chainsaw or FM and I are going to take it apart using the two-person tree saw.
The trees are below 8 feet again and need yet another trimming back.
Already!? I wonder when Fearless Bro is coming??

Nothing but ashes. Looks like Pyro-Mom laid waste to that brush pile. Great, just in time for Fearless Bro to clear more branches.
Wild Mulberry tree looks gorgeous. Unfortunately, the area around this tree was sprayed in an attempt to kill the nemesis (which incidentally, did not die) so I am not going to be harvesting any wild mulberries this year but the birds are still enjoying them. Technically, any wild fruit on the property does belong to them.
Buttons doing her thing. She was annoyed with me because I accidentally startled her so she's taking her cranky, standoffish posture. Note the ears!
Sorry sweetie, I forget your hearing isn't what it used to be.

The pond was really still and looked emerald green.
And it was teeming with new life forms. Baby frogs jumping everywhere, flowering algae on the top of the water and a floating carpet of thin green algae just under the surface.
Amphibious Euphoria!
I was wearing snake boots.
