While my Aunt was here we decided to tackle purging of the shed and garage and house of all the excess tools. FM has more tools than anyone I know and there is a lot of redundancy. We started by cleaning the shed and spreading it all over the lawn.
I'm glad this lawn is over an acre and I am constantly amazed at how much crap one can acquire and store in a small space.
Looks like more than enough shovels although FM swears she uses every single one of them. Okay, so no shovels can go.
She has a lot of these too but once again, these are all commonly used tools (is that rust I see?)
Okay, so no purge going on there.

Alright, I KNOW some of these are duplicates and nobody can use this many of these.
With a bit of nudging from her sister, FM painstakingly went through these and purged quite a huge number.

And then she really got into it and thinned out the screwdrivers!
And then the scraping and cutting tools.
Then she went after the paint scrapers and the tree cutters and every other section until she had whittled her tools down to just three sets of everything.Three SETS!
Despite a massive purge the purge pile was rather paltry but at least she is about 50 hand tools lighter.

Then the next day she went out and purchased herself a new Hatchet she had always coveted.
It was the one tool she didn't have!
