The first snow of the season happened overnight and today. Or as is commonly the case in Illinois - Thundersnow! Which consists of several hours of thunderstorms and rain, followed by snow, followed by more rain. It makes for a nice frozen, glass-like coating on everything and made the roads slippery enough the schools called for their first "snow day" - for those in CA, you'll have to Google this phenomenon. Since I consider this weather unfit for humans, I'll be staying inside today.
The rose bush was really bummed, it was trying to sneak out a few Christmas buds!
In other news, City Kitty caught his first live mouse (see Creatures Features page) and experienced what cold, wet snow feels like. He pretty much agrees with me, the feeling sucks! But he is greatly intrigued by watching it fall through the window.
Snowflakes falling at 6am this morning.
